If you’ve used a whip style desktop vape before, you wouldn't find any difficulty using the ViVape on the whip or wand mode neither will you find assembling the whip a challenge. In case you run into some problems attaching the tubing onto the glass pieces, remember that keeping the end of the glass components make connecting the vinyl tubes easier and in a way works well to seal the connections once the damp ends begin to dry.  

The chamber of the whip connects directly to the actual unit and vaporizes your herbal blends through convection heating. We found the internal fan to be a little too strong and may feel uncomfortable for beginners and the vapors will come out of the whip even when you’re not drawing from it. Test Notes 

The SSV performs really well even when used with various dry herb strains. We also tested moist vegetable plant matter as wells as with several buds and flowers and we’ve noticed no decline in performance.  

Our only gripe is that it’s limited to whip use. The SSV uses a 3-foot vinyl tubing that we noticed was not long enough for large group sessions. We ended up having to change and switch places so each of us could draw from the SSV. An optional glass oil diffuser could be purchased separately and can be used alternatively to fill your rooms with aromatic scents -- perfect for those who like to keep it lit.

As expected, even the finer herbs were kept inside the wand and did not fall off the chamber. However, it took us a while to find our sweet spot. Because the SSV lacks a digital display, we suggest monitoring the herbs and stirring them once in a while to make sure the material you packed gets evenly baked. Green herbs generally mean you’re running at a low temperature, brown herbs mean they’re cooked just right, and a little over dark brown means the leaves are starting to burn. You’d also taste the vapors and they’d slightly be more coarse to the throat. Once you get used to it and found the right temperature level, the SSV can get you lifted in less than a minute. Overall, drawing from the whip taught us that even with the very basic components, the SSV can provide you with a personalized vaping experience.  

Apart from the inclusive whip, the SSV can work in conjunction with many of 7th Floor’s accessories. For those who get bored with the traditional means of drawing from a whip, the 7th Floor Silver Surfer Vaporizer can be outfitted with a water adapter to add moisture to your draws. We appreciate that the canisters are made out of stainless steel and not from glass which makes them more durable and hard wearing. Stainless steel is similarly inert and won’t affect the flavor notes as well as the aroma and potency of your select concentrates and herbs. Furthermore, they promote better heating of your materials since metal facilitates better conductivity and are better conduits of heat than glass. In addition, the Vapir Rise also uses High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter systems to ensure that the vapors it produces are clean and free of irritants that can otherwise be found from smoke and combusted materials. It’s also neat that the fan remains quiet at all speed levels. However, at the highest speed setting, the fan tends to push the air out of the whip leading to wasted vapors when the group goes idle. We tried to stop the fan but it also stopped the heating element and because this stops the vaporization process altogether this allows you to save your materials for another round when you and your friends feel the need to pause.
